    Treatise on the principles of jurisprudence according to the Ḥanafite school.

    • Ms. codex.
    • Title from fol. 1a (later replacement).
    • Physical description: 13 lines per page. Written in medium large naskh in black ink. Larger script for headings. Soft light cream paper with laid lines and pulp visible. Fibers visible on the surface. Hāshiyah on the margins (rare after fol. 44a). Fol. 1-7 are later replacements on thick European paper with watermark. On fol. 129b is an obliterated inscription in Ottoman Turkish.
    • Origin: Copy completed in 861 H. by Jalāl al-Dīn ibn Aḥmad ibn Dalanjī (colophon, fol. 129a, followed by verses of poetry in Persian).
    • Incipit: الحمد لله رب العالمين والعاقبة للمتقين والصلاة على رسوله محمد واله اجمعين باب الامر هو قول القائل لمن دونه افعل ولا تتوقف حقيقته
    • Beginning of original copy (fol. 8a): القضآ فالمحض الكامل ما يدويه الانسان بوصفه الذي شرع

    Modern binding with flap, consisting of soft brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap, with a blind-stamped and color painted panel on each cover. Paper pastedown and free endpaper.

    Impression of a stamp in the name of Ibrāhīm Shawqī on fol. 8a. Acquired by Robert Garrett from Brill, 1925, from the books of Murād Bey al-Bārūdī (Beirut).
