Summary note
Treatise explaining difficult words used in the Qurʼān, arranged in alphabetical order. The text is followed on fol. 98a-110b by several fāʼidah, written by the same hand, on the verses on which one can not pause, on how to know if one should read ḍād or ẓāʼ in some words of the Qurʼān, and related questions. On fol. 111a-b, short text on physiognomy. On fol. 112a-b, short text attributed to Jaʻfar al-Ṣādiq on the characteristics of the day of the months (al-Ikhtiyārāt).

16 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in black ink. The text is partially vocalized. Red dots in groups of three for text-stops. Cream paper with laid lines visible. Inscriptions on fol. 113a-b.
Copy completed for himself by Jumʻah Ibn Ḥusayn al-Sūrānī al-Ḥillī al-Imāmī on al-Arbaʻā 12? Muḥarram ("Thānī ʻĀshūrā") 922 [Feb. 1516] (colophon, after the copy of the colophon of the exemplar, dated Shawwāl 613 [1217]). Second colophon by the same copyist after the fāʼidah, on fol. 110b, with sayings of the Prophet and from ʻAlī on the margins.

Upper cover consists of red leather over paper pasteboards with an outer border made of fillets and a central stamped mandorla. Lower cover consists of paper pasted on paper pasteboards with brown leather edges. Paper doublure. Spine wanting. Disbound.
